بسم اللّٰهِ الرحمن الرحيم
Ramadan is the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar, in which fasting from dawn to sunset is obligatory upon every capable Muslim. It was in this blessed month that the Holy Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) on Laylat al-Qadr, a single night better than a thousand months. The gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained during Ramadan. Muslims devote themselves to fasting, Taraweeh prayers, recitation of the Quran, and charitable deeds throughout this month.
