Dhul Qa'dah
ذُو ٱلْقَعْدَة
One of the four sacred months. Month of preparation for Hajj.
Dhul Qa'dah is the eleventh month of the Hijri calendar and one of the four sacred months in which warfare was traditionally forbidden. Its name means 'the month of sitting', as the Arabs would cease fighting and sit in peace. This month marks the beginning of the Hajj season, and pilgrims begin their preparations and journeys to the Holy City of Makkah. The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and the Bay'at al-Ridwan both took place in this blessed month.

Treaty of Hudaybiyyah
A peace treaty between the Muslims and the Quraysh, described by the Quran as a 'clear victory'.
Battle of the Trench (Khandaq)
The confederate forces of 10,000 besieged Madinah. The Muslims dug a trench to defend the city.
Bay'at al-Ridwan (Pledge of Ridwan)
The Pledge of Ridwan took place under a tree at Hudaybiyyah, when the Companions pledged allegiance to the Prophet Hadrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) ﷺ to fight until the end if needed. Allah declared His pleasure with those who gave this pledge in Surah al-Fath.
Revelation of Hijab (Verse of the Veil)
The verse of Hijab was revealed (Surah al-Ahzab 33:53 and related verses), establishing the practice of modest covering for Muslim women. This is one of the important social legislations revealed during the Madinan period. Sayyiduna Hadrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ had previously expressed his wish that such a commandment be revealed.
Passing of Hadrat Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ
The passing of Sayyiduna Hadrat Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ, chief of the Aws tribe and one of the greatest Ansar. He was wounded during the Battle of the Trench and died shortly after judging the case of Banu Qurayza. The Prophet Muhammad said: 'The Throne of the Most Merciful shook at the death of Hadrat Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ.' (Sahih al-Bukhari). Seventy thousand angels attended his funeral.
Passing of Hadrat Dhu al-Nun al-Misri (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
The great Egyptian saint and scholar Hadrat Dhu al-Nun al-Misri (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ passed away. He was one of the earliest Sufi masters and is credited with systematizing the concept of ma'rifah (spiritual knowledge) in Islamic mysticism.
Passing of Hadrat Mufti Amjad Ali A'zami (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
The great Hanafi jurist Hadrat Mufti Amjad Ali A'zami (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ passed away. He is best known for compiling Bahar-e-Shariat, a comprehensive encyclopedia of Hanafi jurisprudence that remains one of the most widely used references in the Sunni world.
Passing of Hadrat Sultan Aurangzeb Alamgir (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
The sixth Mughal Emperor, Sultan Muhiuddin Muhammad Hadrat Aurangzeb Alamgir (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ, passed away. He was known for his piety, memorization of the Holy Quran, and patronage of Islamic scholarship. Under his direction, the monumental Fatawa al-Alamgiriyyah was compiled.
Siege of Banu Qurayza
After the Battle of the Trench, the Banu Qurayza tribe was besieged for their treacherous alliance with the Quraysh during the siege of Madinah. After surrendering, they chose Hadrat Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ to judge their case, and he judged them according to the ruling of their own Torah.
Passing of Hadrat Sayyid Fadl Allah Shah Tirmidhi (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
Hadrat Sayyid Fadl Allah Shah Tirmidhi (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ passed away.
Passing of Hadrat Haji Zamzam Attari (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
Hadrat Haji Zamzam Attari (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ, beloved of Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, passed away.
Passing of Hadrat Sayyid Jama'at Ali Shah (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
Hadrat Sayyid Jama'at Ali Shah (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ passed away.
Passing of Hadrat Imam al-Tabarani (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
Hadith scholar Hadrat Imam al-Tabarani (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ passed away.
Passing of Hadrat Mufti Naqi Ali Khan (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ
Hadrat Mufti Naqi Ali Khan (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ, father of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, passed away.
Passing of Hadrat Sayyidah Umm Salamah (Radiyallahu Anha) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا
Mother of the Believers Hadrat Sayyidah Umm Salamah (Radiyallahu Anha) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا passed away.
