Dhul Hijjah
ذُو ٱلْحِجَّة
Month of Hajj. Includes Eid al-Adha and the Day of Arafah.
Dhul Hijjah is the twelfth and final month of the Hijri calendar, and one of the four sacred months. It is the month of the great pilgrimage of Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam. The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the most virtuous days of the entire year — the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said no good deeds are more beloved to Allah than those done in these days. The 9th is the Day of Arafah, when fasting expiates two years of sins, and the 10th is Eid al-Adha, commemorating the sacrifice of Hadrat Ibrahim (Alayhis Salam).
