The great Companion and military commander Hadrat Amr ibn al-As (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ passed away. He was instrumental in the conquest of Egypt and served as its governor. He was known for his intelligence, diplomacy, and bravery.

The greatest hadith scholar in Islamic history, Hadrat Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ, passed away on the night of Eid al-Fitr. He compiled Sahih al-Bukhari, universally accepted as the most authentic book after the Holy Quran.

The passing of Imam Fakhr al-Din Muhammad ibn Umar al-Razi, one of the greatest Islamic theologians and Quran commentators. His monumental Tafsir al-Kabir (Mafatih al-Ghayb) is one of the most detailed and intellectually rigorous commentaries ever written. He was a master of kalam (Islamic theology), philosophy, medicine, and mathematics. He championed Ash'ari theology and the Shafi'i school.
